My $20 Steal

My daughter and I decided to check out a local garage sale.
As I was perusing the tables I happened to glance
down and saw some boxes under the table I was at.

I saw a teapot sticking out from the
wrapped dishes in the box
and I thought it looked like the Silver Birch pattern
so I bent down to take a closer look
at what was in the box.

As I did the lady holding the garage sale came up
and told me that it was $20.00 for everything in the box,
that it was an 8-piece setting and in mint condition,
no chips or anything.

Well, the teapot was the Silver Birch pattern
and as I gingerly looked at what else
was beneath the newspaper wrapping
it appeared to be more Silver Birch dishes.

After all, how could I pass it up.
From what I saw there was a teapot
and from what I was told there were
8 plates and 8 teacups and saucers.

So I grabbed the box and didn't let it go
until it was safely stowed away in the car.
I couldn't wait to get home to see
what was in the box.

Well, the lady was correct.
There were 8 plates and 8 teacups and saucers.
But, there were also
8 small bread & butter plates
2 serving bowls
1 serving platter
1 tiered tray
1 teapot with divet
1 cream & sugar set
1 luncheon plate
salt & pepper shakers
gravy boat and tray

I think by the time I was done unpacking everything
I was in a little bit of shock at all that was in the box.

Of course I had to set it all up to see what it looked like.

I have a silver tablecloth
and put a white lace cloth overtop.

And used these delicate vintage napkins.

I love the little butterfly on them.
And then I just sat down and enjoyed.
